Philanthropy and National Unity after April Rising

Summary

At the present scientific report the research of the philanthropical actions, spread in Bulgaria to help the suffered during the suppression of the April Rising in 1876, is being made, and the relation of the Bulgarian public to them.

In this research the concrete charity facts are exhibited on the background of the developing processes of modernisation and national consolidation of the Bulgarian Revival society on the Liberation eve. The description of the specifications of the philanthropical action shows, that even in this case mostly the legal peaceful means are used, it also is of great importance for mobilising the national energy and for standing Bulgarian grounds at the fateful time for the nation
