Summary

The text will be dealing with the Revival strategies of double differentiation with regard to the Occident and the Orient in constructing a modern regional and national cultural identity of in-betweeenness based on the adoption of the notion of moderateness. The early work of Ivan Vazov is to be reconsidered as a strategic geo-political reformulation of the adapted Romantic symbol putting together nature and culture. Thus the self-projection of the region as (the last) "natural culture" has been confirmed and developed by the high nation-state cultures.
